Unifrutti Shipping Division manages the entire group's logistics to ensure the highest level of efficient cargo transport, vessel management, seafreight negotiations, as well as documentation checks and monitoring of voyages. The division is composed of three companies; Dn.G. De Nadai Group based in Italy provides a service on shipping operations and containers, Sunline Shipping in Cyprus provide freight services, while London Ship Managers provide vessel management services from the UK. Established in 1952, The De Nadai Group manages a fleet of conventional reefer vessels (which also carry containers on deck) and since 2009 has had a dedicated team to coordinate the transport of Unifrutti’s produce by reefer containers. The Shipping Division as a whole hires and operates refrigerated vessels, on charterers’ account, to carry part of the fresh fruit produced and exported worldwide by the Unifrutti Group (70%). It also handles the shipment of fruit of other growers and exporters (30%). Vessels are managed through constant communication with Ships’ Masters, Owners (Seatrade, Star Reefers and Cool Carriers), Brokers , Agents Shippers/Receivers at loading, discharging and bunkering ports. In one year the fleet managed by DN.G Shipping Department makes about 140 round-trips, carrying 38,000,000 cartons of bananas and pineapples from Philippines, of which 45% are destined to Far East markets and 55% the Middle East. The main responsibilities of the containers’ team is the negotiation of sea-freights and shipping terms granted the ports and to monitor the containers trips and transshipment operations. Our preferred Container Shipping Liners are MSC, Safmarine, Maersk, CMA CGM, Seatrade, Hapag-Lloyd / CSAV, DAL, GDP, NYK, Thermocar, Hamburg Sud and MOL, with whom, over the years, we have established a profitable and beneficial cooperation. The Shipping Division provides a service to the whole Unifrutti group of companies as well as to Unifrutti customers and third parties. The main focus of the containers department is to manage, on behalf of Unifrutti South Africa, the port export operations and the flow of goods to the markets of Europe, Middle East, Asia, Canada and Africa. London Ship Managers specializes in the management of reefer and container ships in all aspects from administration to expenses to personnel (crew management).
